Selecting a Goal

Updated: Apr 5

As a parent myself, I understand how overwhelming it can feels at times to goal set. You can see all the different directions your child's growth can go. You have your own worries, your own dreams, and the desire to provide the very best for your child.

The first step to selecting a goal during ABA services has to be to strip away that overwhelm. As you begin your ABA journey, you should select one goal to help get some success and drive some momentum. And I always tell parents the same thing: that goal should be the easiest thing to implement OR it should be a goal with the biggest impact on your day-to-day.

These are two very different approaches, but either option can be quite powerful once you have a plan in place to set yourself up for success.

So ask yourself now: What is the one goal I think would be easiest to achieve? What is the one goal I think would make the biggest change in our day-to-day lives?
